Virgin Money London Marathon 2017

25 April 2017

Last weekend saw the annual Virgin Money London Marathon take place. Every year RP Fighting Blindness has a great presence at the event, and this was no exception with 16 people competing in RPFB colours, and raising money for our cause! We’re delighted to report every one of our runners completed the race this year, and some with brilliant times!

The charity held a Runner’s Reception after the race, to meet and greet everyone personally, and to allow everyone to unwind and meet up with their families. The food, drink, massages and showers were very well received!

The fundraising team would like to say a big thank you to all of this year’s great runners and volunteers who helped so much on the day. Among a group of the charity’s supports, a team of sports therapists from Milton Keynes College generously gave their time for free.

This year the marathon will raise around £40,000 for us - the money raised from the London Marathon each year is hugely important to the charity’s work and we can’t thank everyone who took part in the day enough - it really was a team effort!

If you’re interested in marathon running for RP Fighting Blindness, please contact the fundraising team at head office on fundraising@rpfightingblindness.org.uk.
